President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi made a phone call with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, during which he congratulated him on the formation of the new Palestinian government, wishing it success in achieving the aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people, and stressing Egypt’s constant keenness to continue providing all aspects of support to the Palestinian people and leadership.
The call also focused on the developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip, and developments in the efforts undertaken by Egypt to reach an immediate and sustainable ceasefire, and increase the flow of relief aid to all parts of the Strip.
The two presidents also affirmed the continuation of work on a just settlement of the Palestinian issue and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
