President of Yemeni PLC Emphasizes Role of AP in Supporting Yemen

In the presence of two members of the PLC, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi and Sultan Al-Arada, the President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Dr. Rashad Al Alimi received Mr. Adel Bin AbdulRahman AlAsoomi, President of the Arab Parliament (AP), at his residence in Qubba Palace in the Egyptian capital Cairo.

During the meeting, Hon. President Al Alimi conveyed the appreciation of the PLC and the Yemeni people for the role of the AP in supporting Yemen and its legitimate institutions, as well as for its efforts to promote joint Arab action.

Alimi noted the important role of Arab parliaments in correcting the confusion on the just Yemeni issue and fairness for the States of Coalition Supporting Legitimacy led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which are at the forefront of the duty to defend Yemen and the Arab nation.

The president reviewed the developments in the situation in Yemen and the efforts of the PLC and the Government to support peace efforts and consolidate the truce to which the Houthi militia has shown intransigence.

From his side, the President of the AP congratulated the President and Members of the PLC on the assumption of power, and reiterated the consistent position of Arab parliaments supporting Yemenis and their right to restore their State and to end the coup d’état backed by the Iranian regime.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the PLC’s Presidential Office, Dr. Yahya Ashuaibi and the Yemeni Ambassador to Cairo, Dr. Muhammad Marem.
