President Sisi Meets PM, Minister of Electricity on Monday

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Dr Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister (PM) and Dr Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy on Monday.

Ambassador Bassam Rady spokesman for the presidency, said that the meeting came within a program of following the strategic projects carried out by Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy.

He pointed out that those programs aim to support electricity and sustain the infrastructure in Egypt.

President Sisi directed authorities to complete the new projects of electricity and upgrade the current ones.

He also ordered them to commit to the time tables of those new projects to cope with the increasing in consuming and improving of services offered to citizens across the country.

Electricity is more important to answer Egypt’s needs to energy and persify its resources for the coming generations.

President Sisi directed to continue on    completing of interconnection projects with neighboring countries because they harvest mutual interests to all.

He stressed that good managing of electric energy leads to maximize the benefits throughout the year either the local or exporting the surplus to the countries linked to the joint grids.

He assured the vitality of new sources of renewable energy.

The spokesman for the presidency explained that President Sisi was briefed on developments of the infrastructure of electricity in the New Administrative Capital (NAC), especially the executive position for   installation of equipment and lines, works of connections and the extension of power lines and tunnels of high voltage cables.

The Minister of Electricity also reviewed the latest projects underway throughout the country for the use of new and renewable sources of energy, especially within the framework of the state's plan to exploit solar energy.

The meeting also dealt with the latest developments of the electricity linkage project with Sudan, as well as developments in the delivery of electricity supply to  communities in  governorates of North and South Sinai, as part of the efforts of state agencies to develop the Sinai Peninsula through economic, social and urban boom.
