Presidency Spox: Counselor Saeed Amr Sworn in as New President of SCC

"Counselor Saeed Mara’y Gad Amr was sworn in before President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as new president of Supreme Constitutional Court (SCC)," Presidency spokesman Bassam Rady said.

Sisi met with the new president of the SCC; Egypt's head of state praised the court’s role in maintaining the constitutional, legal system and monitoring the constitutionality of laws, the preservation of rights and freedoms and public duties.

The president awarded the former President of the Supreme Constitutional Court, Mr. Hanafi Ali Jibali the Order of the Republic, in recognition of his sincere efforts.
