Bayern Munich began their preparations for the 2026/27 season with a 2-1 defeat to third-tier side Wehen Wiesbaden in their opening pre-season friendly at the Brita Arena.
A youthful Bayern side, featuring several academy players, fell behind after Ibrahim Ati Allah capitalised on a defensive error to give the hosts the lead in the 10th minute.
The Bundesliga champions improved after the break and equalised in the 57th minute when new signing Tom Bischof calmly converted a penalty after Tim Binder was fouled inside the area.
Bischof nearly added a second moments later, but his powerful effort was denied by the Wiesbaden goalkeeper.
The hosts restored their advantage seven minutes from time after Sven Ulreich failed to hold onto a shot, allowing Lukas Schleimer to score the winner from close range.
Despite the defeat, Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany was encouraged by several standout performances from the club's young talents, particularly Tim Binder, whose lively display earned the penalty, and Bischof, who impressed after coming on at half-time.
Bayern will continue their pre-season preparations with further friendlies as they build towards the start of the new Bundesliga campaign.
