Pope Francis urged on Sunday to end the new wave of violence between Palestinians and Israelis.
The Pope said during the Angelus prayer, "I learned with sadness that blood is being shed again in the Holy Land," according to the Italian news agency ANSA.
"I hope that the Israeli and Palestinian authorities will resume direct dialogue to stop the cycle of violence and open paths to reconciliation and peace," he added.
