On September 23, 20 junior diplomats from the Diplomatic Academy of the MFA of Poland arrived in Cairo.

During 4 intensive days, the junior diplomats will visit some institutions and organizations, gaining valuable practical knowledge and experience.

The ongoing visit results from a cooperation agreement signed between the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian Institute of Diplomatic Studies.

This document was signed during President Andrzej Duda's visit to Egypt in May 2022.

The visit of Polish junior diplomats to the capital of Egypt is the first such initiative in the African and Middle Eastern region.

Through this initiative, junior representatives of the Polish diplomatic service will have the chance to develop their intercultural communication skills and gain valuable knowledge about Egypt's views on the current situation in the region and in the international arena.

This visit also aims to emphasize Egypt's constructive and key role in shaping the situation in the Middle East.

On the other hand, Polish diplomats will have the opportunity to underline security challenges in Eastern Europe after Russian aggression on Ukraine.

The knowledge and experiences gained during this visit by Polish and Egyptian diplomats will be significant for their future diplomatic careers.

During numerous meetings, the junior diplomats will hold talks with Egyptian officials, diplomats, and experts to gain a deeper understanding of the complicated region.

A key point of the program will be a seminar organized at the Egyptian Institute for Diplomatic Studies, hosted by HE Ambassador Walid Haggag, Assistant Foreign Minister and director of the Diplomatic Studies Institute.

The program of the visit also includes meetings with representatives of important international organizations and institutions such as the League of Arab States, The Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA), The Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism (AOCE), The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Cairo and the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs (ECFA).

In addition, during the visit, the junior diplomats will have the opportunity to explore Egypt's rich cultural heritage by visiting Saqqara necropolis with the members of the Polish archaeological mission operating in Egypt, and by walking through Cairo's City of the Dead in the company of renowned Polish conservators Agnieszka and Jarosław Dobrowolscy, owners of Egypt's leading architecture design and conservation company ARCHINOS.

Moreover, junior diplomats will also visit the Museum of Islamic Arts in Cairo.
