Poland's President Andrzej Duda said that the country after sending a lot of arms to Ukraine is asking allies to "quickly make up for the gaps left by the aid operation."

This statement came during a meeting with the leadership of Poland's Ministry of National Defense in Warsaw on Monday.

Poland provided Ukraine with the largest military assistance, and it is the main transporter of heavy weapons to Ukraine. Warsaw sent hundreds of tanks, military vehicles, and artillery, as well as drones, MANPADS, hundreds of thousands of ammunition parts, spare parts, and other equipment, Duda explained.

The Polish president noted that Poland was sending armored vehicles to Ukraine.

"We simply moved our equipment, we did not move from the warehouse, we did not move from another party. We gave them what we had, considering it was necessary, and these are not issues related to our weapons, but also huge expenditures on the part of our state. We think it is at least $1.7 billion in military aid alone," he said.

Duda added that it is clear that Poland except to fill the shortage that occurred in the country within the framework of the support mechanisms by the allies.

According to the Polish president, the purchase of new weapons is a long process; therefore, Warsaw asks allies to supply it with used equipment.

"Replacing the arsenal with new equipment that will be produced takes at least months, and most years, and we need quick compensation; therefore, we ask all our allies today to provide us with weapons, not necessarily new ones, on the contrary, we have handed over used equipment and are also ready to accept used equipment," he continued.
