Veteran forward Lukas Podolski continues to defy age after leading Górnik Zabrze to the Polish Cup title this season, following a final victory over Raków Częstochowa on Saturday.
The 40-year-old striker received a rousing reception from fans as he lifted his first trophy with the club he joined in 2021, marking another milestone in a decorated career.
With this latest triumph, Podolski has now won domestic cup titles with five different clubs: Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Galatasaray, Vissel Kobe, and Górnik Zabrze.
The German international, who has Polish roots, has previously stated his desire to end his playing career at Górnik, a club he considers close to his heart. In a further show of commitment, Podolski acquired an 8.3 percent stake in the club at the end of 2025, becoming its second-largest shareholder after the local authorities of Zabrze.
The latest success adds another chapter to Podolski’s enduring legacy, highlighting his continued influence both on and off the pitch.
