Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced the government is considering cash subsidies starting next fiscal year, noting coordination is under way with relevant ministries to finalize the plan.
Speaking at the press conference held by Madbouly following the cabinet's weekly meeting, Industry Minister Khaled Hashem stated the State supports all industry sizes, focusing on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through industrial complexes that empower youth and investors.
He added that sustainable growth requires a broad SME base to evolve into larger entities, matching the Egyptian economy's scale.
The ministry is providing equipped units to ease investor burdens and discussing an e-commerce platform for SMEs to trade and source components locally.
Hashem noted this platform will enhance supply chain integration and reduce import reliance.
