Egypt's prime minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly said on Sunday that the overpopulation is a great challenge facing the Egyptian state at present.

During his speech in the Egypt Economic Conference 2022, which was attended by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, he said," the Economic Conference, which took place in 1982, affirmed that the Egyptian economy major challenge is the imbalance in the massive growth of the population, and it was not matched by a similar increase in economic resources."

He also stressed that the overpopulation in Egypt equal the overpopulation of the 27 European countries in 30 years.

"Regarding the domestic product, it does not meet the increasing needs of citizens, which requires rearranging public and private spending priorities and increasing production rates," the Prime Minister added.

"The rates of production and Egyptian economy had to growth in the fastest way possible," he said.

"The domestic rate grew 4.4% during the last 20 years because of the circumstances that Egypt faced during this period," the Prime Minister clarified.
