Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said the government is coordinating with the Ministry of Industry and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) to establish a fund to help struggling factories resume operations.
The prime minister said that the plan involves a detailed review of struggling factories to determine the most effective support mechanisms. Factories affected by recent economic conditions and capable of restarting production will receive priority.
Madbouly added that some factories face deeper structural or management issues, and each case is being assessed individually to ensure support is directed to viable operations that can contribute to the economy.
The Premier stated that this aims to increase local production, create jobs, and support industrial growth, noting that restoring factory activity is an important step in strengthening the manufacturing sector.
He also noted that banks base financing decisions on feasibility studies and expected returns, as part of their role in funding productive projects.
