Egypt is exerting efforts to secure food commodity self sufficiency during the new Fiscal Year (FY), according to Planning Ministry.

A report issued by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development revealed the most prominent directions of the 2022/2023 plan.

Those directions include careful follow-up of the executive programs of the Egyptian Family Development Plan, which is based on controlling population growth and improving the characteristics of the population within the framework of the state’s efforts to improve the quality of life for citizens, increasing reliance on local resources, through developing the degree of self-sufficiency in food commodities.

The state's plan also seeks to achieve the expansion of farming and livestock projects, by increasing the local component in industry and settling high-tech and value-added industries.

The strategic objective adopted by the next fiscal year 2022/2023 plan is to develop Egyptian villages, manage their needs for infrastructure and services, and create ways to improve income and a decent standard of living for rural people.
