The company that owns a Danish oil tanker that was attacked by pirates last week off Congo-Brazzaville reported that the pirates left the ship, taking some of its crew and leaving the rest in good health.

France 24 stated Friday, that the ship "Monjasa", which was flying the flag of Liberia and was carrying 16 crew members on board when the pirates boarded it on the 25th of March, was found by the navy. France, Thursday, off the coast of Sao Tome and Principe in the Gulf of Guinea.

While the company did not say exactly how many crew members were kidnapped or their nationalities, it confirmed that it was "working closely with local authorities" to return the kidnapped individuals safely.
