The Pentagon announced on Saturday that United States (US) is closely following developments in Niger.
In an interview with "Novosti" agency, Pentagon spokesman said on Friday, "We continue to follow the conditions that are changing and developing, and we reaffirm that we are focused on reaching a diplomatic solution."
The Pentagon spokesman's statement came in response to a question whether the United States supports the possible military intervention in Niger by the countries of the region.
