Ukraine is currently experiencing widespread disruptions to its payment, banking, and electronic services systems, according to local media and service provider reports on Saturday.

Users reported being unable to use their cards to make payments in many stores, and payment services were disrupted on public transport and taxis. Electronic services such as Apple Pay and national payment providers were also disrupted, according to media reports.

Serhiy Naumov, CEO of the state-owned savings bank Oshchadbank, revealed via Telegram that a major data center belonging to the bank had suffered a technical failure.

In a related development, Nova Poshta, Ukraine's largest and most well-known private mail company, which has expanded its operations abroad, announced in a Facebook post that its services had been interrupted due to unspecified technical issues.

Government services provider Diia also experienced technical outages. The Ministry of Digital Transformation explained in a press release that the cause was a technical update being implemented at one of its main data processing centers.

Although there is no evidence of sabotage yet, cyberattacks on Ukraine have seen a significant increase since Russia launched a full-scale war against the country in 2022.

Bloomberg reported on Friday that US efforts to support Ukraine in protecting itself from Russian cyberattacks have declined as a result of aid cuts approved by the Trump administration.
