Egyptian reports claimed said on Wednesday that Portuguese manager Paulo Sousa could succeed Ihab Galal for Egyptian national team hot managerial seat.
"Sousa edges closer to be the Pharaohs new head coach as the Egyptian Football Association contacted him in the recent hours," the reports said.
"EFA ended their agreement with the Portuguese coach in order to lead the seven-time African champions in the upcoming period," they noted.
The football governing body in Egypt had sacked Ihab Galal after suffering two consecutive defeat in his three matches.
