Paulo Dybala will be sidelined for around six weeks after undergoing knee surgery on Friday, his club AS Roma confirmed in an official statement.

The Argentine forward had a diagnostic arthroscopic procedure on his left knee at the Villa Stuart Medical Center.

The examination revealed a minor partial tear in the lateral meniscus, which was treated during the procedure.

Roma said the player will now begin a rehabilitation program lasting approximately five weeks, meaning he is expected to miss at least a month of action while completing his recovery.

The club hopes Dybala will return to training and competitive matches in the second half of April, with a potential comeback targeted around Matchday 33 of the Italian league season. Overall, his recovery period is expected to last about 45 days.

Despite some inconsistency this season, Dybala remains an important player in the squad under coach Gian Piero Gasperini. The Argentine attacker’s current contract with Roma is set to expire at the end of the season.

So far this campaign, Dybala has scored three goals and provided four assists in 22 appearances across all competitions for Roma.
