Parl’t Speaker Attends Handing over Ceremony of King Tut Statue Replica

Egypt's Parliament Speaker Dr. Hanafi Jabali witnessed Wednesday evening the ceremony of handing over a replica of the statue of King Tutankhamun to the United Nations office in Vienna.

The event was held on the sidelines of Jabali‘s participation in the work of the Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Vienna.

In a statement, the Parliament Speaker confirmed that the replica, which was created by experts from the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, is a symbol of cooperation, friendship, and historical relationship between Egypt and the United Nations in all its bodies.

He pointed out that this event highlights in all possible ways Egypt’s major support for the unique and vital role and work of the United Nations.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, Jabali praised Dr. Ghada Waly, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna, describing her “A model for the Egyptian woman we are proud of,”.

The Parliament Speaker also expressed his overwhelming happiness with her role at the United Nations in Vienna.

The ceremony was attended by Egypt’s Endowments Minister Mohamed Mokhtar, and Egyptian ambassador in Vienna Mohamed El-Molla, as well as members of the Egyptian parliamentary delegation and the Egyptian community in Austria.
