Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Delegate to the League of the Arab States Diab El Louh said that the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Abu Mazen, will arrive in Cairo on Friday to attend the emergency meeting.

The Arab Ministers of Foreign Affairs are expected to be convened on Saturday at the headquarters of the Arab League, central Cairo, to discuss the Mideast peace plan proposed by the US President Donald Trump on January 28.

“The Arab ministers’ meeting is very crucial as an Arab unified stance must be taken and proper mechanisms should be clarified to implement the Arab councils’ resolutions,” Louh said.

The Arab League stressed Thursday that "48 Palestinians" are "an integral part of the Palestinian Arab people, and that they are with their brothers in every inch of Palestinian land in the face of Israeli aggression", and that they are "original defenders of their identity, belonging and right to their homeland.”

In a statement released Thursday, the Arab League urged the international community to pressure to stop Israeli attacks, aggression and daily violations of the most basic rights of the Palestinian people within the Green Line and throughout the occupied territories.

In a related context, Abu Mazen sent a letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informing him that the Palestinians will suspend all forms of agreements and freeze the security coordination if the Israeli government announces officially the annexation of the Jordan Valley and settlements blocs in the Occupied West Bank.

The letter stated that Trump’s peace plan is deemed a cancellation of the Oslo Accords, threatening of nonviolent protests across the Palestinian territories.

The Palestinian president seeks local support from Hamas, Arab support on Saturday and international support as he will attend a UN Security Council meeting within two weeks.

Abbas hopes that the upcoming Israeli elections, due on March 2, would change the current situation.
