Palestinian government condemned today, Wednesday, the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas political bureau.
In a press statement, the government called on factions, forces, and the Palestinian people to promote national unity and resilience in the face of Israeli occupation and its crimes.
Earlier today, the national and Islamic forces in Palestine announced a general strike and marches in protest of Haniyeh's assassination.
It is noteworthy that Hamas confirmed earlier this morning that Haniyeh was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike on the Iranian capital, Tehran, during his participation in the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president.
