On Thursday, Mahmoud Al-Habash, adviser to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, expressed hope for enhanced Palestinian dialogue following the appointment of Yahya Sinwar as the new head of Hamas' political bureau.

In an interview with Sky News Arabia, Al-Habash stated, "We hope to strengthen Palestinian dialogue after Sinwar’s selection." He emphasized the need to return to a unified Palestinian political system with one government and one set of weapons, stressing that "the Palestinian people need to reorganize to end the war and occupation."

China Global Television Network (CGTN) recently reported that Fatah and Hamas have signed the Beijing Declaration, aimed at ending their longstanding division and promoting Palestinian unity. The Chinese state television network highlighted that the reconciliation talks took place in Beijing from July 21 to July 23.

Since the brief war in 2007, which saw Hamas expelling Fatah from Gaza, the two rival Palestinian factions have struggled to resolve their political disputes.

The United States has expressed concern over these reconciliation efforts, as it supports the Palestinian Authority while designating Hamas as a terrorist organization.
