Riyad Al-Malkey, Foreign Minister (FM) of Palestine Heads for New York today, Wednesday, to participate in the upcoming session of the general assembly of the United Nations ( UN).

The UN holds an emergency session today to discuss the escalating tensions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas has tasked Mansour to attend the emergency session of the UN which is held at the request of the Arab, Islamic, and Non-Alignment groups in the organization.

It is scheduled that Mansour is going to deliver Palestine’s speech to the assembly.

Palestine TV will stream live the session that held tomorrow, Thursday,  at 5 P.M. Jerusalem time.

A number of other Foreign Ministers are expected to participate in the session to express the support of their countries to Palestine and to condemn the ongoing Israeli aggression on civilians in Gaza and the West Bank.

After hearing speeches of the foreign ministers, the head of the general assembly will announce a unified stance of the organization to condemn the Israeli aggression and to refuse alternation of the legal situation in Al Quds (known in Israeli and Western sources as Jerusalem), especially at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and other shrines in the city.

However, Palestinians in all governorates of the West Bank and areas behind the Green Line have decided to declare yesterday, Tuesday, a general strike that includes all walks of life.

They affirmed that this strike protests the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, Al-Quds (known in Western and Israeli sources as Jerusalem).

Organizers of the general strike said that it comes as a sign of solidarity with martyrs and wounded people in the Strip.

The strike includes all walks of life in private and public institutions, banks, and means of transport, schools, and universities.

The Leadership of the Islamic and national forces calls for the comprehensive strike across the Palestinian territories, refugee camps in Palestine, and abroad today.
