Norway announced yesterday that the Palestinian Authority has received $114 million from Israel, with more funds expected to be transferred in the coming days.

This development follows an agreement earlier this month to release frozen tax revenues collected by Israel on behalf of the Palestinian Authority.

On February 18, Oslo agreed to facilitate the transfer of these crucial funds, providing essential financial support to the Palestinian Authority.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre emphasized the vital importance of these funds in preventing the collapse of the Palestinian Authority and ensuring the provision of basic services, including salaries for teachers and healthcare workers.

Further transfers are anticipated shortly, although precise details regarding the timing and amount remain unspecified.

Israel collects taxes on goods imported into Palestinian territories through Israeli ports, retaining a 3% commission before transferring the remainder to the Palestinian Authority.
