Muhammad Talha Mahmood, Chairman of the Pakistani Senate Defense Committee, emphasized on Tuesday that the security of Pakistan and Iran is "deeply interconnected," warning that regional instability directly impacts the entire international community.

Speaking with Al-Qahera News, Mahmood highlighted that several nations are beginning to recognize the gravity of the current situation. He specifically addressed the tension surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, noting Iran’s stated willingness to reopen the vital maritime corridor. Mahmood identified regional tensions involving Israel as a primary catalyst for the recent escalation.

A Call for Diplomatic Dialogue

Pakistan has expressed its readiness to act as a mediator, urging direct dialogue between the United States and Iran. "A final solution can only be achieved through direct negotiations," Mahmood stated, adding that Pakistan welcomes constructive settlement proposals from the U.S. and other international actors.

Global Economic Stakes

The Senate Defense Chairman pointed out that the standoff has already reverberated through global energy markets, affecting economies worldwide, including the United States. He stressed that any political resolution must respect the mutual interests of all parties involved to ensure long-term regional and international peace.

As the tension between Washington and Tehran persists, Pakistan continues to advocate for political solutions to prevent the conflict from sliding into further military escalation.
