Pakistan Condemns Indian Minister’s Remarks, Urges Return to Diplomacy, Dialogue

In a strongly worded statement issued on Tuesday, Pakistan categorically rejected what it described as “irresponsible remarks” made by India’s External Affairs Minister during recent media engagements in Brussels.

The statement, released by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, underscored the need for diplomatic discourse that fosters peace and harmony, rather than inflammatory rhetoric.

Pakistan criticized the tone and content of the Indian minister’s statements, emphasizing that the stature of a foreign minister demands dignified communication, not “bellicose punchlines.”

The ministry urged Indian officials to adopt a more responsible approach, especially in public international forums.

The statement accused India of perpetuating a “malicious campaign” to mislead the global community by portraying itself as a victim, while allegedly engaging in state, sponsored oppression and terrorism, particularly in the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir.

Islamabad claimed that India’s anti-Pakistan rhetoric was a diversionary tactic to obscure its own controversial activities and human rights abuses in the region.

Highlighting its preference for peaceful coexistence and diplomacy, Pakistan nevertheless reaffirmed its readiness to defend its sovereignty.

The government cited its “robust response” to what it called “India’s reckless strikes” last month as evidence of its deterrent capabilities.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry also urged India to cease what it called “misleading narratives” used to justify recent aggressive actions. “The narrative emerging from India betrays sheer frustration, following an unsuccessful military adventure against Pakistan,” the statement read. It further advised Indian leadership to “improve the standard of their discourse and discard their obsession with Pakistan.”

The statement concluded with a pointed reminder: “History will judge not by who shouted the loudest, but by who acted the wisest.”

This latest exchange underscores the ongoing volatility in India-Pakistan relations, with diplomatic tensions continuing to mount amid mutual accusations of aggression and subversion.
