The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine announced on Friday that 523 children have been killed and 1,218 others injured since the commencement of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.

As of February 9th, the conflict has affected over 1,741 children across the nation, with many sustaining injuries of varying severity.

The statement highlighted that the Donetsk region witnessed the highest number of child casualties and injuries, totaling 509 cases, followed by Kharkiv with 328 cases, Kyiv with 130 cases, and Kherson with 146 cases.

The Prosecutor General's Office emphasized that these figures are not final, as ongoing efforts are being made to verify data from conflict zones and territories under Russian control.

The rising toll underscores the devastating impact of the conflict on Ukraine's youngest and most vulnerable population.
