More than 23,000 arrest cases have been recorded across the West Bank, including Jerusalem, since the start of the war in Gaza, according to a report by the Palestinian Prisoner Society.

The organization said the figures include all individuals who were detained, whether they remain in custody or have since been released. Arrests have taken place in homes, at military checkpoints, and through cases where individuals were forced to surrender under pressure, as well as instances of detention used as leverage against families.

The report indicated that more than 700 women have been detained during this period, including those arrested from areas inside Israel as well as from Gaza while present in the West Bank.

Children have also been significantly affected, with approximately 1,800 arrest cases recorded among minors.

Journalists have not been spared, with over 240 detained since the outbreak of the war. Of those, 43 remain in custody, including three female journalists. One journalist, identified as Marwan Harzallah from Nablus, died while in detention.

The report also highlighted that the arrest campaigns have been accompanied by escalating violations, including physical assaults, threats against detainees and their families, and widespread destruction of property. Homes have been raided and damaged, while vehicles, money, and valuables have reportedly been confiscated.
