Mostafa Madbouly reviewed progress on the development of Arish International Airport during a field tour in North Sinai, as part of ongoing efforts to upgrade Egypt’s aviation infrastructure.

The prime minister was briefed on the project’s implementation status by senior officials, including representatives from the Armed Forces Engineering Authority and the Egyptian Airports Company. The visit comes within the framework of broader government plans to modernize airports nationwide in line with directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Madbouly reaffirmed the state’s commitment to adopting advanced operating systems and the latest technologies in air navigation, aiming to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of Egypt’s civil aviation sector. These upgrades are also intended to support the country’s strategy to increase tourist arrivals.

Officials explained that the development of Arish International Airport forms part of a comprehensive vision for the development of Sinai across multiple sectors, including aviation. The project focuses on strengthening infrastructure and improving operational capacity through several key components.

These include upgrading existing facilities, constructing a new passenger terminal, building a VIP lounge, and establishing a new aircraft apron. The enhancements are expected to boost the airport’s ability to handle increased traffic while supporting broader economic and development goals in the region.
