Linda Yacarino, CEO of X, announced in a social media post on Thursday that over ten million individuals have subscribed to the platform this month.
This comes at a time when the company, formerly known as Twitter, faces the risk of losing up to $75 million in advertising revenue by the end of the year, with major brands suspending their promotional campaigns on the platform, according to The New York Times.
As X does not regularly disclose user data, it has not been possible to compare subscription figures for December on average or determine the reason behind Yacarino's revelation of this number.
Billionaire platform owner Elon Musk stated in July that the site has approximately 540 million monthly users.
Several companies, including Apple, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Paramount Global, announced last month that they would temporarily halt their advertising on X.
Musk criticized advertisers who left the platform after he agreed with a user who claimed that Jews were fueling hatred against whites.
