French forward Ousmane Dembélé, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, has been crowned with the Ballon d’Or 2025, marking the first time in his career that he wins the world’s most prestigious individual football award.

The ceremony, organized by France Football, was held on Monday night in Paris.

Dembélé’s achievement comes after a remarkable season in which he played a pivotal role in PSG’s success.

The 28-year-old winger helped guide the Parisian club to five major trophies during the 2024–2025 campaign: the French Ligue 1 title, Coupe de France, Trophée des Champions, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Super Cup. His speed, creativity, and decisive goals proved crucial in what is regarded as one of the club’s most successful seasons in history.

The gala also saw other stars recognized for their outstanding performances. Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, now with Manchester City and formerly of PSG, won the Lev Yashin Trophy for Best Goalkeeper in the world.

Spanish coach Luis Enrique, who guided PSG to their incredible five-title season, received the Johan Cruyff Award for Best Coach.

Meanwhile, Barcelona’s young prodigy Lamine Yamal was honored with the Kopa Trophy for Best Young Player under 21, winning it for the second year in a row.

Dembélé’s triumph represents a career milestone, cementing his status among the football elite.

It also crowns a dominant year for Paris Saint-Germain, who emerged as the best club in the world in 2025, sweeping titles and dominating the awards stage.
