Oscar Nominations 2023: The Complete List

The nominations for the 95th annual Academy Awards, honoring the film industry's finest from the past 12 months, were announced on Tuesday.

Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan’s sci-fi movie, “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” leads in the sheer number of nominations with 11 total.

The madcap adventure follows a woman, played by Michelle Yeoh, who hops through the multiverses as different versions of herself.

Other best picture nominees include: "Top Gun: Maverick", "Avatar: The Way of Water", "The Banshees of Inisherin", and “All Quiet on the Western Front”.

The acting nominees include Cate Blanchett, Brendan Fraser, Andrea Riseborough, and Bill Nighy.

Nighy has received his first Oscar nomination at the age of 73 for "Living", in which he plays a civil servant whose outlook changes after he is diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Jamie Lee Curtis has received the first Oscar nomination of her long and varied career at 64, for her role as a tax inspector in Everything Everywhere All At Once.

The best supporting actress category also provides a nomination for Angela Bassett for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which makes her the first person to get an acting nod for a Marvel film.

Rihanna also earned her first Academy Award nomination for “Lift Me Up,” the song that plays during the closing credits of Marvel’s latest giant and has been nominated for Best Original Song at the 2023 Oscars.

Normal People star Mescal is rewarded with his first Oscar nomination for playing a young Scottish father raising his 11-year-old daughter.

Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams revealed the nominees for the 2023 Oscars in 23 categories, including best picture, best director, best original and adapted screenplay, the awards for actor and actress in lead and supporting roles, best song and score, and crafts categories like cinematography, production design, sound, film editing and visual effects.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ nominations announcement took place in person — in front of an audience filled with members of the press and publicists for the first time since 2016 — at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.

Emmy-winning late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, is set to host the 2023 Oscars, his third time emceeing the awards show.

The 95th Oscars will take place Sunday, March 12, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and air live on ABC and broadcast outlets worldwide.

This year’s ceremony is sure to draw extra attention after Will Smith smacked Chris Rock during last year’s show.

Last year’s awards were memorable not only for the Oscars handed out but also for Will Smith slapping Chris Rock and the controversial decision to present eight categories prior to the telecast and air-edited versions of those speeches. New Academy CEO Bill Kramer has indicated that he would like to have all of the categories honored during the live show this year.
