CAIRO, Feb. 21 (SEE) - Despite Egypt's

busy agenda after being the chairman of the African Union in 2019, Sharm

El-Sheikh resort city will host the Arab-European Summit next week. The summit

will be hold under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and EU

leaders will attend such as European Council Chairman Donald Tusk, EU

Commission Chief Jean-Claude Juncker, in addition to a number of senior leaders

from Arab world and Europe.

The summit's timing provides a

golden opportunity for dialogue on many issues of common concern, especially

the fight against terrorism and illegal immigration. Perhaps the link between

the two issues is growing stronger recently especially after talks circulating

among political circles about ISIS defeat.

There are many doubts over the

destiny of this terrorist organization which embraces nearly 1000 European

nationals. European countries made their decisions and decided not to allow

them return back to Europe.

In other words, those terrorists

will resort to illegal migration to enter their home countries or flee to other

neighboring countries where they can hide well from security apparatuses.

The impending defeat of ISIS

forces the international parties participating in the Arab-European Summit to be

responsible for finding unified mechanisms to undermine the ability of this

terrorist organization which may seek to regain its strength and re-exercise

its criminal activities.

The summit shall tackle another

important issue, development.

On the Egyptian side, the illegal

migration from Egypt to Europe was declined as a direct result of the national

projects in many sectors which provide the society with a large number of job

opportunities.

Moreover, the unemployment rate

was declined too to be 10 percent in the first quarter of the current fiscal year

compared to, compared to 11.9 percent in the same period last year.

We can assume that the citizens'

living standards were enhanced and the education system is being developed too

to raise the people's awareness and counter extremism.

I am certain that the

understanding of the leaders of the Arab-European Summit on the seriousness of

the trans-Mediterranean challenges in the current period will lead them to take

a "frank approach" when discussing the various issues and reaching a

point of view.

Meeting and addressing problems

requires collective action and international effort. Dangers of terrorism and

illegal migration exist world widely like an octopus so they must be

eradicated.
