Russia’s Presidential Library in Egypt inaugurated

On the occasion of 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum where Egypt selected as a guest of honour, that sources of the Russian Presidential Library finally could be accessed to through the Russian House in Cairo. The event was celebrated by several and Egyptian officials such as the Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Nazih El Nagary, the Director of the Cultural Centers in Egypt Murad Gatin, Russian Literature Professor and the Former Dean of the Faculty of Al Alsun Dr. Makarim El Ghamry, and the Head of the EGYPTIAN Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities Sherif Gad alongside others.

On his side, El Nagary expressed that this library is an essential source of knowledge in Russia, and the access to its hall and databases virtually would fulfil the desire of knowledge for all Egyptian students, and culture lovers. He added that the founding of the Humanitarian Cooperation between Egypt, and Russia is a bright proof for the improvement of relations between both countries.

On the other hand, Gatin revealed that the access to the library is step on the bridging between Egypt and Russia in fields of science, and culture, adding that more virtual reading halls will be opened for Egyptian students in Cairo, and Alexandria, in addition to the members of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

He also pointed out that visitors can enjoy with more opportunities to participate at more conferences, seminars, and lectures virtually.

It is worthy to mention that the library opened in 2009 in St Petersburg and it contains the central documents of the country, alongside digital databases for publications in Russian, and several reading halls, in addition to 550,000 books and volumes and thousands of video footages and audio clips.

Moreover, millions of people around the world, and 1400 access points inside Russia, and other 46 access points in 31 countries were established.
