US President Joe Biden landed in the White House after he has persuaded the electorate that he has a strategy, expertise, and know-how to erase the leftovers of Trump's era in the United States of America (USA).

When the US  president reached the White House he concentrated on a number of files.

He defined two priorities which are fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and re-unifying the pided country.

Biden abolished the US withdrawal of the World Health Organization (WHO) and he returned the USA to Paris Climate Agreement.

Biden also canceled a presidential decree regarding migration which banned entering nationals of a number of countries of Islamic- majority to US territories in addition to other measurements that Biden pledged to implement during his presidential campaign.

However, the mission of the US president is very difficult in handling chasm in US society following a fierce election campaign.

Those who voted for Trump are more than 70 million and they represent a wide bloc in  American society.

They have strong ties to Trump's personality and the policies that he set during his presidential term that lasts for 4 years.

Those policies are known as "Trumpism" that led to widening the gap in US society between the Reds (Republicans) and Blues (Democrats).

Instead of issuing the comprehensive call, like his predecessors, Trump betted of fears of Americans and scared his nationals with ghosts of illegal immigrants who depicted them as "abusers".

Trump claimed that his policies are the only guarantees for law and security facing threats of radical Left.

This Trump's heritage left dangerous prints on the Republican party and established for popularity that may stay in place for long years to come.

When we recall the clear chasm left by the last  US presidential elections and violent events that followed, we should remember the words said by President Biden when reached the White House.

He assured that he will be president works to re-unify the USA which was exposed to a shock due to the state of the chasm as the time came to set aside the hostile language and listen to each other and terminate the state demonization as it is time to recover and heal wounds of America.

This tranquilizing language calls for reconciliation hides what the US society suffers from pisions and enticing inside numerous sectors of society and what it means of direct impacts on the daily life of the Americans.

It may be the best example for political chasms in the country, is the decision of a court in Wisconsin State to acquit Kyle Rittenhouse, an American young man whose case reflects the great chasm in the country.

The conservatives consider that acquittal a winning concept of self-defense meanwhile, the liberals depict it as a failure of the system of criminal justice.

However, the celebration of the court's decision by Republicans took place amid the rage of Democrats mirrors an unlimited political chasm.

Rittenhouse's case date backs to 23 August 2020   when the USA witnessed mega protests against racism and police violence.

Huge disturbances were reported in that state situated in the region of the  Great Lakes after an assault targeted a US citizen of African origin.

At the time of the case, Rittenhouse was 17-years old.

He equipped himself with AR 15 semi-machine gun and joined armed groups came to protect storehouses.

Rittenhouse shot two persons to death and injured a third.

During the trial,  he said that he did not do wrong because he defend himself only.

He affirmed that he fired at those men after they attacked and chase him.

But the problem that could be considered by all students of law throughout the world, is that Kyle Rittenhouse brought danger to himself voluntarily.

Rittenhouse also intentionally put himself in a situation of danger, meaning that he embodied abuses in the right of self-defense.

Perhaps the statements of the sitting and former US presidents about this incident reflect the type of pisions within American society. Democratic President Joe Biden says he is "concerned and angry," but in a statement called on Americans to respect the jury's decision.

"I invite everyone to express their views peacefully while respecting the law," he said.

Former President Donald Trump, who has previously publicly defended Rittenhouse, said, "Congratulations for Rittenhouse's acquittal."

Last words: The permanent negative pisions within any society portends a lack of trust.

And this trust, if it no longer exists, will contaminate the public political sphere, which will lead to the absence of national unity in countries like Lebanon or to make democracy lose its balance, as is the case of the United States of America.
