Egyptian athlete Omar Ahmed Zidan, a modern pentathlon player representing Madinaty Club, achieved a remarkable global milestone by winning the gold medal in the Laser Run (running and shooting) events at the UIPM Laser Run World Championships, held in Mossel Bay, South Africa under the auspices of the International Union of Modern Pentathlon (UIPM).

Zidan claimed the world title after an outstanding performance and intense competition against elite international athletes, topping the race with an impressive time. His victory saw the Egyptian flag raised high on the podium, reaffirming Egypt’s growing prominence in modern pentathlon at both regional and international levels.
This achievement reflects the tremendous efforts of the athlete alongside the technical and administrative staff. Madinaty Club extended its sincere congratulations to the modern pentathlon technical and administrative teams led by Dr. Ahmed Abdelhakim, as well as the Sports Activity Department headed by Captain Mohamed Abdelhamid, whose technical and organizational support played a key role in this global success. Winning the gold medal is not only a personal triumph for Zidan, but also a new addition to Egypt’s sporting achievements and a strong message highlighting the excellence of young Egyptian talents and their ability to compete and claim titles at the highest international level.
