Acclaimed Egyptian composer Omar Khairat has been transferred to intensive care after suffering a severe bout of influenza, leading to the postponement of all his upcoming concerts. In a message to his audience, Khairat expressed his regret for the unavoidable cancellations and apologized to fans who had eagerly anticipated his scheduled performances.
Despite his hospitalization, Khairat reassured his admirers that his condition is stable. Doctors have advised him to take a full period of rest to regain his strength, making it necessary to suspend all artistic commitments in the meantime.
Khairat conveyed his deep gratitude to his fans for their love and continuous support, promising to return to the stage as soon as he fully recovers. He affirmed that he looks forward to performing again with the same passion and artistic excellence that his audience expects.
The news comes shortly after Khairat delivered a memorable performance at the opening of the Fustat Winter Festival at the Fustat Hills Park in Old Cairo, where he captivated attendees with a selection of his most celebrated compositions. Ahead of the concert, he praised Egypt’s ongoing progress, telling the audience: “I salute Egypt for the great achievements we witness every day. Long live Egypt.”
