The Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad al-Khalili, slammed, on Sunday, the normalization of a number of Arab countries recently with Israel.

In a post on the Twitter site, Al-Khalili described normalization as a "new negative phenomenon," explaining that it is "wooing the enemy whom God Almighty has commanded us with his enmity, and bragging about that without shyness or concealment."

"Some of the nation’s symbols were quick to do so, so they would abandon their bright past and raise their slogans that brought them closer to their masters,” Al-Khalili added.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi, affirmed on September 10 that a comprehensive and just peace between the Arab countries and Israel cannot be achieved without a two-state solution based on the principle of land for peace and an end to the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian lands.

Al Busaidi’s statements were made during his speech before the Arab foreign ministers attending the opening session of the 154th Arab League’s council.

During the session, the Omani foreign minister handed over the chairmanship of the Council to the State of Palestine.
