On Friday, Mohamed Ibrahim Kisho officially announced his retirement, bringing an end to a decorated career.

The winner of the 2020 Tokyo Games bronze medal shared an emotional message on his Instagram account.

He said: “After many years of hard work, challenges, victories, honoring my country, raising its flag on international stages, and after fulfilling my dream by winning an Olympic medal in Greco-Roman wrestling, I’ve reached the most difficult decision in my athletic journey. I have decided to officially retire from competition."

He added: "This decision hasn’t been easy. Wrestling was always more than just a sport to me. It was my life, my passion, and my source of strength in the toughest times. I thank God for every moment I lived in the ring, every moment of pride, and every cheer I heard from my family, fans, and country."

He concluded his statement by thanking his coach and team.
