Head of the Suez Canal Authority Osama Rabie stated that the navigation traffic in the canal witnessed Monday the resumption of the transit of the oil tanker "SEAVIGOUR" within the northern convoy on its journey to China, after completing its repairs.

The head of the authority stated that the results of the comprehensive examination prepared by the authority’s technical committee, which includes engineering and navigational competencies, confirmed the tanker’s suitability for sailing, and that there was nothing preventing it from resuming its sailing in the canal again.

The head of the authority stressed that the Suez Canal possesses the necessary human and technical ingredients to deal with emergencies of navigation within the canal, and to ensure the stability of global supply chains despite the various challenges.

It is worth noting that the navigation traffic in the canal witnessed yesterday the passage of 72 ships, with a total net tonnage of 4.3 million tons, and 41 ships crossed the canal from the north direction, with a total net tonnage of 2.3 million tons, while 31 ships crossed from the south direction in the new navigational course of the canal with tonnages of 2 million tons.
