Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), met with Amb. Hadi Shibli, the Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine, at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters. Amb. Shibli provided an update on the critical situation in the State of Palestine, highlighting the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, characterized as a genocide, alongside the systemic violations and crimes perpetrated by Israeli forces in the West Bank, including East Al-Quds Ash-Sharif.
He also pointed out the alarming rhetoric and incitements from Israeli ministers and officials, as well as the ongoing discussions regarding the annexation of the West Bank and claims of supposed Israeli sovereignty over the territory.
In response, Secretary-General Taha reaffirmed the OIC’s steadfast commitment to advocating for an immediate and lasting ceasefire, facilitating the entry of humanitarian assistance into Gaza, ensuring international protection for the Palestinian population, and mobilizing support for the two-state solution in alignment with relevant United Nations resolutions.
