The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has set the day after tomorrow, Sunday, to hold an emergency meeting at the level of the Executive Committee to discuss the repercussions of the incident of burning a copy of the Holy Qur'an in Sweden, according to the Arab World News Agency.

The organization said in a statement published by the Media Department on Twitter today, Friday, that Saudi Arabia had called for the meeting as the head of the Islamic Summit and the head of the Executive Committee to discuss "the measures that must be taken against these despicable acts and to take a unified position regarding the repeated desecration of the Qur'an."

Last Wednesday, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its strong condemnation of the "extremists" burning the Qur'an at a mosque in Stockholm.

"These hateful and repeated acts cannot be accepted with any justification, and they clearly incite hatred, exclusion, and racism," the Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
