The 10th Edition of the World Halal Summit and the Halal Expo 2024, which are being held in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 27th to 30th November 2024, serve as key trade promotion activities showcasing products and services that comply with the Halal regulations of the Islamic law.
In his message to the Opening Session of the 10th World Halal Summit and Halal Expo 2024, which was held in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye, on 27th November, 2024, His Excellency Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), congratulated the organizers on their remarkable achievements in successfully hosting these prestigious annual events for a decade. He commended the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) and the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) for their continued commitment to promoting halal trade activities through the establishment of Halal standards, harmonization of Halal practices across the OIC Member States, as well as organizing various Halal expos and events. The message of His Excellency the Secretary-General was read by Mrs. Farha Ramdzan, Professional Officer of the Department of Economic Affairs at the OIC.
In his message, the Secretary-General acknowledged that the halal industry has made a lasting impact by fostering international collaboration, showcasing innovation, and driving economic growth within the OIC Member States. He also called on all Member States to popularize the Halal-Green concept, and prioritize strategies that promote collaboration and inclusivity within the halal sector.
