Egyptian Football Association (EFA) member Ehab El-Komy announced that according to regulations Zamalek will be fined for withdrawal from the Super Cup.

Zamalek decided to withdraw from the latest Super Cup against Al Ahly, due to a string of decisions by the Egyptian football association EFA regarding Al Ahly's striker Mahmoud Kahraba.

As a result pyramids fc, the Egyptian premier league runner-up, replaced Zamalek in the clash in which Al Ahly won 1-0 to clinch their 13th super cup.

Subsequently, the EFA decided to impose a 500,000 EGP fine on the Whites and banned them from participating in the next Super Cup.

Ehab Elkomi spoke to Al Shams TV channel as he said: “According to the regulations, Zamalek will not be allowed to participate in the next Super Cup and will be fined 500,000 EGP.

“There is a difference between apologizing and withdrawing from tournaments. The apology is days before the match, which is what Zamalek did in the Egyptian Super Cup, while withdrawal is to be on the field and then leave before the end of the match,” he added.
