Times Square will see cheerful New Year's Eve celebrations once again this year as New York city's Mayor Bill de Blasio announced, RT reported on Wednesday.

He said: "We are proud to announce the ball drop, everything, coming back full strength, hundreds of people there to celebrate. We can finally get back together again. It’s going to be amazing.”

Blasio revealed that the celebrations will be exclusive for people who are fully vaccinated and aged above five years old.

Invited persons should show up with a valid photo ID, and proof that they are fully vaccinated.

Regarding those who are still un-vaccinated due to disability, they can participate in the cheering crowds after providing concerned authorities with a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours, with wearing medical protective masks.

There will be several checkpoints that will be deployed around the scene to check the required documents.

Finally, New York city's Mayor highlighted that more measures could be released in the few upcoming days.

It is worthy to mention that last year's Times Square celebrations were turned to be virtually due to the dramatic emergence of the pandemic.

Therefore, the online ball drop and firework event were streamed online live from Times Square to give the audience a glimpse of happiness, and new year's hopeful vibes amid the quarantine and harsh medical situations.
