Nuweiba, Egypt – June 29, 2025 — The Red Sea Ports Authority has announced the closure of Nuweiba Port in South Sinai this evening due to adverse weather conditions.

According to the Authority's media center, wind speeds reached 20 to 25 knots with southwesterly gusts, and wave heights rose to 2–3 meters, causing significant maritime turbulence and unsafe sea conditions.

As a result, all marine navigation has been suspended at the port, and both inbound and outbound traffic for all types of vessels — including small boats and large ships — has been halted to ensure the safety of lives and maritime operations.

Rear Admiral Mohamed Abdel Rahim, Chairman of the Red Sea Ports Authority, ordered the implementation of all precautionary measures. These include verifying the integrity of navigational aids at port entrances and exits and enforcing maritime safety protocols to prevent potential incidents.
