North Korea has just declared its victory over the novel coronavirus.. but to what extent had they already been opened about the cases in the country?!

Yesterday, the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said at an expanded meeting of the Politburo,  the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), that his country had succeeded in curbing and defeating the Coronavirus.

The Korean Central News Agency reported that Kim warned of "complacency or relaxation, even if only a little" regarding the fight against the pandemic, and called for maintaining "the utmost caution."

Earlier, Pyongyang has reportedly imposed severe restrictions to stop the Coronavirus from spreading, which has gripped the world since it emerged in Wuhan, China in December 2019, and also closed its borders and imposed a quarantine period for thousands of citizens and hundreds of foreigners.

Despite the spread of the Coronavirus in nearly 200 countries, North Korea "insisted that it will not be infected", despite its land borders with its southern neighbor and China, which are among the countries worst affected by the pandemic.

Despite this, experts believe that North Korea is particularly vulnerable to the spread of the virus due to the weakness of its medical system. Defectors accused Pyongyang of hiding the spread of the pandemic.

The coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and 2 international conveyances. The virus has so far claimed more than 524 thousand lives worldwide and infected more than 11 million others, while around 6.2 million have recovered so far.

Yesterday, the United States of America recorded more than 55,000 new Coronavirus cases yesterday, in the largest daily increase all over the world, Reuters Statistics showed.

The daily number of the cases in the United States reached 55,274 late Thursday night, exceeding the previous record number set by Brazil on June 19 of 54,771.
