North Korea announced Thursday morning its first COVID-19 over two years into the pandemic.
Yonhap News Agency quoted the statement saying, “in our country, which has been guarded since February 2020 by the Emergency Epidemic Control Front… an emergency has occurred.”
Before today’s statement, North Korea has not recorded any corona cases; however, it imposed strict measures to fight the epidemic, these include closing borders and imposing restrictions on domestic travel.
According to its statement, World Health Organization has not yet recorded any positive COVID cases in the Asian country.
