NJPW NBG in Sapporo: Nic Nemeth Becomes New IWGP Global Champ

On Friday, New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) continued its The New Beginning series with The New Beginning in Sapporo, night 1.

The night witnessed major title changes in the promotion as the night saw the coronation of three new champions. 

Sho defeated El Desperado to be the new IWGP Junior Heavyweight champion to end a very short reign of the masked superstar who captured the title in Wrestle Kingdom.

Former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle became the new NJPW World Television Champion after defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi who also won the title at Wrestle Kingdom.

Finally, former WWE Superstar and current TNA superstar Nic Nemeth defeated Bullet Club War Dogs leader David Finlay to be the second IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion.
