NJPW: Goto Defeats ZSJ to Win 1st IWG World Heavyweight Title

On Tuesday, Hirooki Goto defeated Zack Sabre Jr. to win the IWGP World Heavyweight title.

The match was the main event of NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka.

This title is the first IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in his 22-year career.

To celebrate his win, Goto brought his son and daughter into the ring, in addition to his tag-team partner YOSHI-HASHI.

Sabre Jr.’s won the title in October 2024 at King of Pro-Wrestling.

He made four successful title defenses and headlined the Tokyo Dome on back-to-back nights in IWGP World Heavyweight Title matches.
